IOE-ILO-CEC Webinar for the Caribbean Region COVID-19: Prevention, vaccinations and the world of work

BP2C Steering Team member the International Organization of Employers (IOE) partnered with the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the Caribbean Employer’s Confederation (CEC) to host a webinar for the “Caribbean region on COVID 19: Prevention, vaccinations and the world of work” on September 16. BP2C Team Lead Jen Faucon presented at the event. The event presented data on COVID-19 in the Caribbean, progress in and deployment of COVID-19 vaccination in the region, characteristics of the COVID-19 vaccines used in Caribbean countries and territories.

Matthias Thorns (IOE), Wayne Chen, Viky Giulietti, and Keston Nancoo gave welcoming remarks and participants heard an update on the World Health Organization’s (WHO) approach to vaccination in the workplace from Dr. Cuauhtemoc Ruiz Matus, the WHO Unit Chief of Comprehensive Family Immunization. Arsenio Fernandez Rodrigues, from the International Labor Organization’s (ILO) Labor Inspection and Occupaional Safety and Health office spoke about how ILS applies to the COVID-19 vaccination policies in the workplace, and Jen Faucon of BP2C talked about the CONVINCE initiative.
